Understanding Skin Aging
Skin aging is a complex, multi-factorial process that begins in our mid-twenties and accelerates with each passing decade. The visible signs - fine lines, wrinkles, volume loss, and sagging - are the cumulative result of biological changes beneath the surface and decades of environmental exposure above it.
There are two primary drivers of aging: intrinsic aging (genetically programmed changes like collagen decline and reduced cell turnover) and extrinsic aging (UV radiation, pollution, smoking, and lifestyle). Research shows that up to 80% of visible facial aging is caused by sun exposure alone.
