    Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'lip fillers meaning' actually refer to in aesthetic medicine?

Lip fillers refer to the use of dermal fillers (usually hyaluronic acid) to enhance lip volume, shape, and definition. The goal is fuller, more defined lips with proper proportions, not the overfilled look you see gone wrong on social media. What are lip fillers made of? Primarily HA-based products like Juvederm or Restylane, formulated specifically for lip tissue.

What's the difference between a skin injection and a filler injection?

A skin injection is a broad term covering any substance injected into the skin, which could be Botox, fillers, mesotherapy, PRP, or vitamins. Filler injection specifically refers to dermal filler treatment using volume-adding substances like hyaluronic acid. All fillers involve skin injections, but not all skin injections are fillers.

Is there such a thing as breast filler?

Technically, yes, but we don't recommend it. Breast filler using hyaluronic acid is marketed in some countries but requires massive amounts of product (up to 100+ syringes), costs more than implants, and has higher complication rates including lumps, migration, and infection. Fat transfer is a better non-implant option if you want volume.

Can all types of filler be dissolved?

No. Only hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Non-HA fillers like Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) or Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) cannot be dissolved. You have to wait for natural absorption (6 to 24 months) or consider surgical removal in extreme cases.

Will dissolving filler affect my natural facial volume?

Temporarily, yes. Hyaluronidase doesn't distinguish between injected HA and your body's natural HA. You might look slightly deflated for 1 to 2 weeks while your body replenishes its own hyaluronic acid. This is normal and resolves on its own.

How long does it take for hyaluronidase to work?

You'll see initial improvement within 24 hours. Full dissolution takes 24 to 48 hours. For emergencies like vascular occlusion, treatment must start within minutes to hours to prevent permanent damage.
