Laser hair removal in a crux

Laser hair removal aims a beam of light at the melanin inside each hair follicle. The follicle absorbs that light as heat, which weakens it session after session until it stops producing hair. Most areas take 6–8 sittings at 6–8 week gaps, since on any given day the laser can only act on the follicles that are actively growing.

On Indian skin the wavelength is what matters. Deeper Fitzpatrick III–V tones need the Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelength, or a multi-wavelength diode, so the energy reaches the root without troubling the skin around it. At UNCOVER Sector 104 a dermatologist chooses that setting for each area and reviews it at every visit.

What that means in Noida: You get one dermatologist-run clinic covering the whole of Noida and Greater Noida, with the laser and its settings matched to your skin at a patch test before anything is booked.

Is laser hair removal right for you?

The three questions we field most often in Noida, and each one gets covered properly at your consultation.

Indian & deeper skin tones

Fitzpatrick III–V is the everyday skin type here, and it responds well once the right wavelength is used.

  • Nd:YAG 1064 nm, or a modern multi-wavelength diode
  • Patch test before your first session
  • Alexandrite on its own is avoided on deeper skin

PCOS & hormonal hair

Laser helps a great deal with PCOS-driven facial hair, but it behaves differently and needs a longer plan.

  • 10–12 facial sessions rather than 6–8
  • 2–3 maintenance sessions a year
  • Bring recent hormone and thyroid reports

Men

Coarse beard, chest and back hair reacts strongly to laser, though it takes a couple of extra sessions.

  • Beard line, chest, back, shoulders and full body
  • 8–10 sessions is typical
  • Male technician available on request

Wait, for now, if you

  • Are pregnant; treatment is deferred until after
  • A fresh tan or a sunburn; hold off two weeks
  • Took isotretinoin in the last six months
  • Have an active skin infection in the area
  • Have grey, white or fine blonde hair, which holds no pigment for the laser

How many sessions does laser hair reduction take?

At any moment only some of your follicles are actively growing, and those are the only ones the laser can reach, which is why the sittings are spread out.

AreaSessionsGapTime
Upper lip, chin8–104 wks15 min
Full face8–104 wks30 min
Underarms6–84–6 wks10 min
Bikini line6–84–6 wks25 min
Arms6–84–6 wks40 min
Legs6–84–6 wks60 min
Full body6–84–6 wks2–2.5 hrs

So why a course, not a single sitting? One visit only weakens the follicles growing that week, and that is a minority of the hair on any area. Reaching the rest means returning every four to six weeks across six to seven months, catching each follicle mid-growth. Nobody credible calls it done after one session.

Laser hair removal performed by a dermatologist at UNCOVER
Typical arc: roughly 10–25% less hair once the first session settles, a clear difference around the fourth, and around 90% by the end of the course; figures that shift with hair colour, thickness and hormones.

What actually happens during a session at Sector 104

Dermatologist consultation

The dermatologist reviews your skin tone, hair density and any hormonal picture, runs a patch test, and hands over an itemised quote in writing before you book.

Prep

Turn up with the area clean, with no deodorant, lotion or makeup. The team clips and shaves it, then marks the sections so the aim stays precise.

Laser hair removal treatment

Cooling gel, eye shields, and the moving handpiece. Most people land at 2–4 out of 10: warmth with an occasional nip. Numbing cream is free on request.

Aftercare

A little pinkness that fades within hours. For a day or two, no gym, steam, sauna or sun, and SPF 50 every morning. There is no downtime, so your day carries on.

Inside a session, step by step

  1. Understanding hair growth and skin typeDensity and skin tone decide the wavelength, fluence and number of sittings.
  2. ShavingShaving first, so the laser meets the follicle rather than surface hair.
  3. MarkingSections are marked so areas that need different settings are treated correctly.
  4. Gel applicationA cooling gel goes on first to keep the laser's heat comfortable on the skin.
  5. LaserThe handpiece passes over each section, delivering pulses to the follicles.
  6. AftercareMoisturiser and sunscreen are applied to settle and protect the skin.

This is repeated every 6–8 weeks through the course.

Questions people ask us

How it works & about us

How does laser hair removal work?

The laser sends light into each hair follicle, where the pigment absorbs it as heat. That heat damages the follicle a little more with every session, so it grows finer and slower and eventually stops. It works best on dark hair, which holds the most pigment for the laser to find.

Why a full course instead of one or two sittings?

Only the follicles in their active growth phase respond on the day you are treated, and that is never all of them at once. Spreading sessions across six to seven months lets the laser catch each follicle while it is growing. Two sittings simply cannot reach enough of them.

What does 'permanent' honestly mean here?

For most people a full course lands around 90% reduction, and at that point the leftover hair is fine and thin enough to pass for permanent. The precise number moves with hair colour, thickness and hormones, and the odd maintenance session keeps things flat. Think large and lasting drop, not a promise of never another hair.

Cost & sessions

What does laser hair removal cost in Noida?

At Sector 104, single sessions open at ₹1,999 for upper lip or chin and ₹2,499 for underarms; larger areas run ₹4,499 for the bikini line, ₹4,999 for full face or arms, ₹6,999 for legs and ₹11,999 for full body. Men's areas begin at ₹2,999. What you finally pay depends on the area, the number of sessions and the dermatologist's plan; GST applies and packages can go on EMI.

How many sessions will I need?

Most body areas take six to eight, at six-to-eight-week gaps. The upper lip, chin and full face usually run to 8–10 on tighter four-week spacing, and hormonal facial hair needs more still. Your exact count comes after the consultation, not before.

Can I pause a package partway through?

Unused sessions do not expire; they carry over and stay valid at any UNCOVER clinic across Noida, Delhi and Gurgaon. Tell your coordinator and we replan the schedule around you.

Safety & skin

Is it safe on Indian and deeper skin tones?

Yes, with the right wavelength. Fitzpatrick III–V skin calls for Nd:YAG 1064 nm or a modern multi-wavelength diode, both of which we run, and the patch test before session one fixes the setting. Tuned correctly, the beam goes for the pigment in the hair, not in your skin, so darkening or lightening isn't the usual result; the temporary kind tends to follow a tan or an over-hot setting, which the patch test screens out.

Does it hurt?

Usually a 2–4 on a 10 scale, gentler than waxing. The in-motion tip is cooled, so it reads as warmth with the odd sharp point. The upper lip, bikini and underarms sting a bit more, and numbing cream is free on request.

Does laser do anything for grey or blonde hair?

No. It reads melanin, and grey, white or pale blonde strands carry too little of it to catch. A dermatologist says so upfront at the consultation, instead of booking you for a course that can't deliver.

Laser or IPL: what is the difference?

IPL isn't a laser at all; it's broad-spectrum light. Spreading energy over many wavelengths makes it less precise, weaker in effect and more of a risk on deeper skin. Every machine at Sector 104 is a genuine medical laser.

Your situation

I have PCOS. Will laser help?

Yes. It's among the better routes for PCOS-driven facial hair, though the hormones keep prompting fresh growth. Budget for 10–12 sessions on the face rather than the usual 6–8, and a couple of top-ups each year while the PCOS is uncontrolled. Carry your latest hormone and thyroid results to the consultation.

Is it fine to come in during my period?

Yes, it is completely safe. Skin can feel a little more sensitive around your period, so if you are treating the bikini area, mid-cycle tends to be more comfortable.

Do you treat men?

Yes. Beard line and neck start at ₹2,999, chest at ₹4,999, back and shoulders at ₹5,999, and full body at ₹14,999. Coarse hair generally means 8–10 sessions, and you can ask for a male technician when you book.

Is shaving okay between appointments?

Absolutely, shave as much as you like between visits. Just don't wax, thread, pluck or epilate during the course, because the laser needs the root sitting in the follicle to aim at.

Booking in Noida

Where exactly is the clinic and how do I reach it?

The clinic is at DM-1, Lower Ground Floor, Sector 104, Noida. Your closest metro is Sector 76 on the Aqua Line, about eight minutes on by cab. It's an easy hop from Sector 18, Sector 50 and the Sector 62 office belt, and people also travel in from Greater Noida, Indirapuram and Ghaziabad. The Sector 104 page has directions.

Is this the only UNCOVER clinic in Noida?

Yes. There is a single UNCOVER in Noida, at Sector 104, and it covers the whole city. Move or travel later and your unused sessions still stand at any UNCOVER across Noida, Delhi and Gurgaon, so changing branch is straightforward.

When should I begin ahead of a wedding?

Give yourself eight to ten months for a full-body plan, and time the last session three to four weeks ahead of your first event so any redness has gone. Shorter runway? We'll focus on the areas that show and be honest about the reduction that's realistic.

What happens at the first visit?

You see a dermatologist, have your skin assessed and get a patch test, then leave with an itemised quote good for 30 days. Nothing obliges you to buy that day, so take the quote away and think it over.

Medical disclaimer: for information only, not medical advice; prices are indicative and settled at your consultation; individual results differ.

The longer read on how laser hair removal works Close

How laser hair removal works

Each hair sits in a follicle that holds the pigment melanin. The laser emits a beam that this pigment absorbs and turns into heat, which travels down to the base of the follicle and damages the structure that grows the hair. Repeated over a course, that damage builds up until the follicle produces only fine, slow hair or none at all.

The catch is timing. A follicle is only vulnerable while it is actively growing, and your hairs cycle through growth, rest and shedding at different moments. That is the whole reason a course is spaced across months rather than crammed into a few weeks.

About UNCOVER

UNCOVER is a dermatologist-led chain, and the Noida clinic at Sector 104 runs on the same protocol as the Delhi and Gurgaon branches. Three things sit behind that:

  • Dermatologist supervision. An MD dermatologist sets your plan and the laser settings are chosen per area, per session, rather than left on a fixed preset.
  • Technology for Indian skin. Alma Soprano Titanium and InMode Triton are on site, which lets deeper Fitzpatrick III–V tones run on an Nd:YAG or multi-wavelength setting.
  • Transparent pricing. You get a written, area-wise quote valid for 30 days, the top-up rate is fixed on day one, and you're never pushed to buy on the day.

Why the course runs to six or eight sessions

At any given time only part of your hair is actively growing, and growing follicles are the only ones the laser can damage. A session deals with that week's active follicles; the others have to be caught on later visits, in their own growth window. Repeating across the area every four to six weeks, over about six to seven months, is what builds a steady, durable reduction. Anyone pitching the finished look after one or two visits is ignoring the hair cycle.

What 'permanent' honestly means

For most people a full course brings around 90% reduction, and the hair that stays behind is fine and sparse. Someone who used to shave every couple of days will feel that as good as permanent. Hormones can nudge some regrowth over the years, which an occasional maintenance session handles. So 'permanent' here means a large, durable reduction that frees you from the constant cycle of shaving and waxing, not a guarantee of never seeing another hair.

What a session is actually like

A session at Sector 104 follows the same six steps each time:

  1. Understanding hair growth and skin type. Density and skin tone decide the wavelength, fluence and number of sittings.
  2. Shaving. The area is shaved so the follicle, not the surface hair, absorbs the energy.
  3. Marking. Sections are marked so areas needing different settings are treated correctly.
  4. Gel application. A cooling gel keeps the laser's heat comfortable on the skin.
  5. Laser. The handpiece passes over each section, delivering pulses to the follicles.
  6. Aftercare. A moisturiser and sunscreen go on to calm and shield the skin.

The same sequence repeats at six-to-eight-week intervals through the plan.
