Laser hair removal in a crux

Laser hair removal gives long-term reduction of body and facial hair over 6–8 sessions in most cases. It uses laser technology that targets the black pigment at the root of the hair follicle, and as a result its growth starts reducing over weeks.

On Indian skin, the results depend on choosing the right technology for your skin along with its tailored wavelength and frequency. Additionally, at UNCOVER, we ensure every laser hair removal session is monitored by a dermatologist.

What that means for you: UNCOVER Clinics provides dermatologist-led laser hair removal for unwanted facial and body hair. Each clinic is equipped with advanced laser systems, and the treatment settings are personalised based on your skin tone, hair thickness, treatment area and hair-growth pattern to achieve safe and effective hair reduction.

What to check before you buy a laser hair removal package

These seven things decide whether you get 85% reduction or 40%. Use the list at any clinic, including ours.

What to askAt UNCOVER
Which exact machine is in the room?
Ask for the brand and model, not "advanced diode".
Alma Soprano Titanium + InMode Triton, both US-FDA
Who chooses the energy setting?
This is the decision that burns or spares your skin.
MD dermatologist, per area, per session
Is a patch test included? Yes, always before session one
Is it safe at my skin tone?
Fitzpatrick III–V needs Nd:YAG or multi-wavelength.
Wavelength switched to suit your type
What exactly is inside "full body"?
Many packages quietly exclude face and bikini.
Written area list before you pay
What do extra sessions cost? Top-up rate fixed on day one
What if I need to pause? Sessions carry over, valid at all UNCOVER clinics

Is laser hair removal right for you?

Four situations we're asked about most. Your consultation covers all of them properly.

Indian & deeper skin tones

Fitzpatrick III–V is the norm here and it is entirely treatable — on the right wavelength.

  • Nd:YAG 1064nm or multi-wavelength diode
  • Patch test before session one
  • Alexandrite alone is not used on deeper tones

PCOS & hormonal hair

Works well, but behaves differently. A clinic that treats it like ordinary hair will disappoint you.

  • 10–12 facial sessions, not 6–8
  • 2–3 maintenance sessions a year
  • Bring recent hormone and thyroid reports

Men

Coarser hair responds strongly, but needs a couple of extra sessions.

  • Beard line, chest, back, shoulders, full body
  • 8–10 sessions typical
  • Male technician on request

Wait, for now, if you

  • Are pregnant
  • Have a fresh tan or sunburn — wait 2 weeks
  • Took isotretinoin in the last 6 months
  • Have an active infection in the area
  • Have grey, white or very fine blonde hair — laser cannot target it

How many sessions are needed for laser hair removal?

Laser only works on hair in its active growth phase, and only a fraction is there at any time. That is why sessions are spaced — and why two sittings can never be enough.

AreaSessionsGapTime
Upper lip, chin8–104 wks15 min
Full face8–104 wks30 min
Underarms6–84–6 wks10 min
Bikini line6–84–6 wks25 min
Arms6–84–6 wks40 min
Legs6–84–6 wks60 min
Full body6–84–6 wks2–2.5 hrs

Why six to eight sessions, and not two? One session is like a minor training for the hair follicle. To destroy the hair follicle from its root, we need to work with a laser repeatedly over a period of 6–7 months at a gap of 6–8 weeks for optimum results. Anyone who promises results in a single session is lying, and you should steer clear from them.

  3. MarkingMarkings are done to differentiate areas that need different frequencies.
  4. Gel applicationCooling gel is applied before laser so that its heat is comfortable on the skin.
  5. Laser timeWe use our advanced laser technology to start targeting the hair follicle.

Questions people ask us

How it works & about us

How does laser hair removal work?
Laser technology works by emitting light that targets the black pigment of the hair follicle. It works by constantly focusing the laser on the hair follicle and ultimately ensuring it dies at the root. With each laser, the follicle becomes weak and eventually sheds off. This ensures smooth skin without the pain of shaving and waxing.
About UNCOVER Clinics

UNCOVER Clinics treats everything from mild unwanted hair to excessive hair growth. Every laser hair removal session follows a dermatologist-led treatment protocol, with laser settings personalised according to the patient's skin tone, hair type, hair density and treatment area.

Here's how the laser hair removal process works at UNCOVER Clinics:

  • MD dermatologist monitors every session — each session is done under their supervision, and the frequency and sittings are prescribed specifically by them.
  • Lasers chosen for Indian skin — UNCOVER Clinics use Alma Soprano and InMode Triton, both US-FDA cleared.
  • Honest pricing — the pricing is transparent and we don't compromise on any quality of services.
  • Realistic results — most people see around 90% reduction after a full course, and your dermatologist tells you at the consultation what to expect for your hair.
What does "permanent" honestly mean?
Imagine someone who shaves every other day — a 90% reduction in their body hair will genuinely look like permanent hair removal. In an extreme case, you may need a maintenance session, and after that you are good to go for a long time. It seriously saves you from the tedious hassle of constant temporary body hair removal methods.

Cost & sessions

How much does laser hair removal cost in Gurgaon?
Laser hair removal in Gurgaon starts at ₹1,999 per session for smaller treatment areas. At UNCOVER, per-session prices start from ₹1,999 for upper lip or chin, ₹2,499 for underarms, ₹4,499 for bikini, ₹4,999 for full face, ₹6,999 for full legs and ₹11,999 for full body. The final price depends on the body area, number of sessions required, hair density and the plan recommended by the dermatologist.
How many sessions will I need?
Six to eight for most body areas, spaced 6–8 weeks apart. Facial and hormonally driven hair needs 8–10 sessions at shorter gaps, plus maintenance. Your dermatologist gives you a specific number after the consultation.
What if I have to pause my package?
Unused sessions carry over and are valid at any UNCOVER clinic across Gurgaon, Delhi and Noida. Tell your coordinator and we re-plan the schedule.

Safety & skin

Is it safe on Indian skin tones?
Yes, on the right wavelength. Fitzpatrick III–V needs Nd:YAG 1064nm or a modern multi-wavelength diode. We use Alma Soprano and InMode Triton, with a patch test before your first session.
Will it darken or lighten my skin?
Correctly set, no — the laser targets hair pigment, not skin pigment. Temporary pigmentation can happen on tanned skin or at too aggressive a setting, which is why the patch test and a dermatologist-set fluence matter.
Does it hurt?
Most people rate it 2–4 out of 10, well below waxing. In-motion lasers with a cooled tip feel like warmth with an occasional sting. Upper lip, bikini and underarms are sharper; numbing cream is free on request.
Does it work on grey, white or blonde hair?
No. Laser targets melanin and these hairs have little or none. Your dermatologist will say so at the consultation rather than sell you a course that cannot work.
Laser or IPL — what's the difference?
IPL is broad-spectrum light, not a laser. It scatters energy across many wavelengths, making it far less selective and both riskier and less effective on deeper skin tones. Every device at our Gurgaon clinics is a true laser.

Your situation

I have PCOS — will it work for me?
Yes, and it is one of the most effective options for PCOS hirsutism. Expect 10–12 facial sessions rather than 6–8, plus 2–3 maintenance sessions a year while hormones are unmanaged. Bring recent hormone and thyroid reports.
Can I get laser during my period?
Yes, completely safe. Skin can feel more sensitive, so mid-cycle is more comfortable if you're treating the bikini area.
Is it safe if I'm trying to conceive?
Yes. The light reaches a few millimetres into skin and has no effect on reproductive organs or fertility. We do defer treatment during pregnancy itself, as standard practice.
Do you treat men?
Yes — beard line from ₹2,999, chest from ₹4,999, back and shoulders from ₹5,999, full body from ₹14,999. Male hair is coarser, so courses run 8–10 sessions. A male technician can be requested at booking.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes, shaving is encouraged. What you must not do is wax, thread, pluck or epilate during the course — the laser needs an intact root to target.
